This is powerful stuff. All the police officers I know personally are honestly nice people. They coach their kids little league teams and sincerely want to protect their communities. But there is still certainly a culture of racism, anger and I think at the end of the day...fear. The root of all of this is dehumanization. Until we can look on all people as if they were our own sons or brothers, I fear this kind of tragedy will continue to happen.
