Bukowski was a misogynistic asshole. But, man, I don’t know that you’ll find too many people more honest, more truly unapologetically candid than Buk. There is something redeeming about him that is hard to pin down. Perhaps it’s the forthrightness idk. I’m always surprised how many women really love his work (my wife does not and thinks he’s gross) but good art is good art.
